FEBRUARY 7, 2008 I think my brother, Patrick, may be a little jealous of me because I am enjoying the sunny Southern California weather, here in La Jolla. However, I am a little jealous of him- he can awake every morning- take a few steps out of the house (although he does much more than that) and enjoy the herd. We are fortunate to enjoy the decendents of our very first horses... Fashion, our first horse is forever in our memory. Star, our second, is there, too. So is Blue- our third... We want to share the kindness of Blue Gold, the friendship of Fashion, and the majesty of Star- with you. We welcome you into our "virtual home" of Arrow's Walkers and also to meet us and our horses in person. The bloodlines of these horses are traveling the world... Here's to smooth riding in 2008! -Collene |

As of December 2007... Winter is upon us. Wishing all a joyous season! |

As of August 2007... Nearly all of our 2007 foals are on the ground! We feel blessed and are truly grateful to have so many healthy new additions to our herd. Look for updated pictures in the month of September. Also, representatives from Arrow's Walkers will be attending the North American Pleasure Gaited Championships in Castle Rock, Colorado. We are looking forward to the show! We always enjoy meeting fellow breeders and TWH/gaited enthusiasts!

As of April 12, 2007... Our first foal is finally here. As they say on the set of a movie, the game is "hurry up and wait". Well that is how we have felt around here for the past month or so. However, we feel beauties like this are always worth the wait! GO ON OVER to the YOUNG 'UNS page for photos. Remember, we have many more on the way... |

As of December 2006... In the many ways that you celebrate... We hope that you are enjoying the season! We are! We are also looking forward to 2007. In 2007, we are expecting one of our largest foal crops ever! We are anticipating more foals by Wizard Jack.
Solid Gold also carries "Heritage" and Calvin Miller lines through his dam, "Jazz". We will also see what Blue Gold grandsons, Arrow's True Blue, Arrow's Sparky Tones, and Arrow's Splash O Creme are made of! As everyone knows, the true mark of a stallion is the quality of foals he produces! Enough about "the guys"! Some of our broodmares are looking very bred! We expect to start foaling in March. Our "team" will be on hand to make sure that the mares and foals all do well. In past years, we have milked mares (yes- can you believe that?!), bottle fed foals, and had goats adopt foals! For those of you who have never had the pleasure of "making friends" with a newborn foal, we hope that you one day will! You can usually find plenty at our ranch in the spring- so stop by if you like. For those of you who have- you know that they are one of the greatest miracles on earth!

ARROW'S DAKOTA DUDE now standing at stud in Alabama! Double-agouti(homozygous), double-black(homozygous)bay stud, Arrow's Dakota Dude has left the Arrow's Walkers family and is now making his home with the Bradfords. We wish them all the best of luck in their endeavors! "Dude" is a grandson of our foundation sire, Blue Gold. |

As of July 2006... We are delighted to welcome Honey Gold back into our herd! Honey Gold, born in 1995, left us as a yearling. She spent many years as a family companion. The huge Hayman fire that burned 128,000 acres in Colorado was among the circumstances that led to her need of a new home. This golden palomino mare is spending her summer at over 8,000 feet elevation in the Colorado Rockies! She is a direct Blue Gold daughter and extra special to Collene because she is by Lazy-Y-Arrow Flame. Flame was named by Collene for her deep red color and small amount of white on her forehead resembling the Olympic Torch. Flame was born in 1992- the year of the Summer Olympics! Honey Gold's granddam is our foundation mare, Ebony's Dak. Fashion! Like Fashion, Honey Gold is patient and kind. |

TRIGGER AKA ARROW'S READY TO SHINE IS PUT ON THE MARKET! Allen's Gold Zephyr can be found four times on the pedigree of this colt. However, the Western Legacy runs as thick as the blood- generations upon generations of Trigger's relatives have lived and played out west! He carries the blood of our own Colorado born and bred Blue Gold. His granddam, who produced our lovely mares, Arrows Colorado Sand, Arrows Colorado Gold, and Arrows Colorado Sunshine (Trigger's dam) also comes from a line of Colorado Walkers. Trigger's sire, SC Ready Freddy, is a direct son of Slush Creek Jubal S, TWHBEA 917961/BL. Jubal was the last stallion to ever leave Calvin Miller's 24,000 acre Double Diamond Ranch, located in North Dakota. His sire's dam's western blood also runs deep as she has such western notables as Zephyr Zephyr and Dapper Dan. Left as a stallion, Trigger can help you to produce companiions for those who love horses and know the gift of friendship and trust as Roy Roger's did! TWHBEA registered Classy, Trigger's friend- and the horse he has been with day in and day out for most of his two years in North Carolina, is also being offered at this time. This golden palomino, with one white stocking, was also born in 2004. We would love to see the pair stay together! Please call Collene directly at (619) 254-0411 to express your interest. |

BLUE GOLD SON, GOLDEN GAMBLER, HAS FROZEN SEMEN AVAILABLE! Now the bloodlines of our beloved Blue Gold (foundation stallion at Arrow's Walkers) will live on indefinetly! Golden Gambler, who is quickly leaving a mark of his own on the walking horse breed, stands at Westwood Farms. Please visit their site at http://www.westwoodfarms.net or Frozen Horses at http://www.frozenhorses.com for more information. Oh, and in case you haven't heard, Gambler is featured on the cover of the 2006 National Bridal Shop catalogue and in Maggie Moore's wonderful showcase of natural Tennessee Walkers, Walking With Friends. Could this be the start of giving his famous relative Allen's Gold Zephyr aka Trigger, Jr. a run for his money? |

BLUE GOLD SON, CAPTAIN'S CREME COLOR PRODUCES ONLY KNOWN DOUBLE- AGOUTI, DOUBLE- BLACK, DOUBLE- CREME PERLINO STUD COLT IN THE WALKING HORSE BREED! Arrows Blue Sky Traveler, as we call him, was born at our Alamosa, Colorado home. He left our ranch as a young horse with Elsie Darrah of Last Chance Farm. After bouncing around the country, "Traveler" is now registered as Captain's Creme Color and stands at Rise and Shine Walkers in Kokomo, Indiana. We are happy and excited that he has found such a loving and appreciative home! His dam- Blanca Traveler, his full sister- Arrows Blue Pearl, full brother Arrows True Blue, and many half brothers and sisters as well as other relatives remain in our herd. Delene knew Blanca had a legacy awaiting her when she added the mare to the herd as a mate for Blue Gold. Now, over a decade later, the grandson of these two is the only known double- agouti, double- black, double- creme perlino stud colt in the breed! As exciting as this news is, Traveler's western heritage through his dam and sire makes all of his offspring special- no matter what color! Who can complain about icing on the cake though? Thank you to Rise and Shine Walkers for appreciating and taking such good care of a horse whose first home was with us- and a huge congratulations on producing a foal with the potential to leave a huge impact on the Walking Horse breed! |

As of June 23, 2006... We are happy that we have had a good rain to help the grass in the pastures stay green! There is more water in the water holes and lagoons than in the last 5 years or so! Our region, as well as many others across the country, has been struggling with drought. Arrow's Walkers horses(at Lazy-Y-Arrow East) graze on pastures that once sustained the great buffalo herds and Native Americans of the plains. We hope to have updated photos soon! |

As of April 11, 2006... Spring is here and so are our foals. Wizard Jack's first foal has hit the ground. She is by Wizard and Delight's Dusty Gal. Arrows Rojo has also delivered his first foal. He is black and white spotted by Vanity Fair's Crown Jewel. Rojo and Arrows Blue Pearl also have a smoky black stud on the ground. We have some recent pictures- they can be seen by clicking here. |

BLUE GOLD grandson, ARROW'S Flash O' Gold, in Weston, CO... We are happy to announce that Arrow's Flash O' Gold is now at his new home! Congratulations to Wayne and Christina Monk of Horsefeathers Ranch in Weston, Colorado! Having added breeding stock from their herd to ours in the past- we are glad to be able to send over one of our finest! Hopes are that all will work out for Flash O' Gold to be a future herdsire and more! His mother Shadow's Lady Leeza is our prized broodmare. She produced Arrows Rojo, whose first foals will hit the ground in 2006! Flash O' Gold will be residing midway between Lazy-Y-Arrow Ranch East and Lazy-Y-Arrow Ranch West, so we will certainly stop in to see him in the future. We also look forward to the opportunity to breed mares to him! |

As of July 2005... Foals are still arriving! Arrow's Walkers has welcomed 8 healthy purebred Tennessee Walking Horses in 2005! Jen, working with us on the training of our horses, also welcomed a healthy colt, by her mare "Hagatha". See him on AgDirect. Some of the purebred foals produced by our ranch will be put on the market this year. We are in the process of selecting which ones we will offer. In addition to the purebred foals, we have welcomed 8 part-walker offspring so far. They range from 1/2 to 7/8 Tennessee Walker. All are sired by one of our purebred stallions. Their dams carry the blood of Mustangs from the Bureau of Land Management adoption program and horses from the Navajo herds. Many of these horses were in dire need of a home when they came to our ranch- some, having grown up running free in nature, and taken off of the land that they were born on for various reasons. Others were suffering due to some of the worst drought conditions that the region has experienced. We are happy to be able to offer them an existence similar to that of which they are accustomed- having room to run, grass to graze on, and life in a herd environment- and being able to deliver their foals into this environment as well. While their levels of training and comfortableness with people vary, these horses are able to "Live the Mustang Lifestyle" at Lazy-Y-Arrow Ranch. Wizard Jack is doing well with his saddle training. Jen has introduced him to working cattle. Delene has also taken him for several spins around the ranch! Collene, July 11, 2005 |
