Arrow's Walkers would not even exist if it was not for Laurel! Laurel and her husband, Jim, sold us our first TWHs! The couple had traveled to the 24,000 acre Double-Diamond Ranch in North Dakota. In search of horses to bring back to Colorado's San Luis Valley...

Laurel was half owner of our foundation stallion, Blue Gold. She was a meticulous horse woman and truly won over by the "western TWH" which she used on pack trips into the 14,000 ft mountain ranges surrounding the San Luis Valley and also at National American Trail Ride Conference Competitions.

Delene
palomino

Delene began breeding at Lazy-Y-Arrow Ranch with the co-purchase of Blue Gold. However, her love for horses began as a child... She used to run her pony on the Great Plains of Colorado- even standing up on him! She knew a good horse when she saw- and rode- her first TWH- Ebony's Dak. Fashion. Fashion was born on the Double- Diamond in N.D. and packed into the mountains, Fashion became a family horse with her purchase-- which included being taken on elk hunting trips and producing foals by Mr. Tammer and Blue Gold. With a background in the sciences, Delene understands selecting for the genetic components that make up a quality gaited horse.

We dearly miss our friend a fellow breeder, Elsie Darrah. Elsie was a great supporter of Arrow's Walkers and an owner of two Blue Gold daughters, who she bred to produce many quality offspring that have made their way to different parts of the country- many being used in breeding programs. Elsie shared color genetics knowledge and expertise- and held true to a high standard of integrity, even correcting Blue Gold's sire's papers to his truthful color- of course confirmed by genetic testing.

Collene
palomino

Collene is currently working with this year's foal crop. She believes in developing a horse-human relationship based on willingness, respect- and in harmony with nature. She has fond memories of the Arrow's Walkers foundation stock- Ebony's Dak. Fashion, Dakota Evening Star, and Blue Gold. A breeder herself, she loves seeing Blue's descendents grace the pastures of the Lazy-Y-Arrow Ranch.

Patrick- R.I.P.
Patrick SC Ready Freddy

Patrick developed a love and appreciation for the natural TWH before his untimely death. His own experience with horses stemmed back to childhood elk hunting trips in the 14,000 ft mountain ranges surrounding Colorado's San Luis Valley. An accomplished athlete himself, he admired the athleticism of our "western walkers". He is pictured above on SC Ready Freddy, back when Freddy was herdsire. Arrow's Solid Gold, a direct son of Blue Gold, was Patrick's favorite stallion on the ranch.

Who knew what that first TWH back in 1986 was going to start... with Blue Gold's bloodlines now all over the United States and the globe, Arrow's Walkers is grateful to be involved with a great breed! We appreciate our fellow breeders who know the true value of the Tennessee Walker lies in versatility.

We also appreciate our Veterinarians, the trainers we have worked with over the years, those who promote our bloodlines and the versatile TWH.. We hope to share our love of our breed- and especially our ranch raised TWHs- with many more to come over the years!
